Yeah, well. Whatever, but it does show openings for 3 FO's on their website. And I am NOT affiliated with FlightOpenings.

Well wizepilot, why don't you send a message to flightopenings.com or ask ProceedOnCourse and ask them for their source that they are hiring 3 FOs? You must be one of those guys who believes everything that is posted on the internet.

I suppose you are one of those that may be P.O'ed that maybe some of us are looking for a little hope during these times, whether or not it may be true. I seem to think that maybe you are the one that's getting it in your avatar. And, no, I don't believe everything that is on the internet

What's the beef? I post jobs as I come across them. If you don't want to read about them, then don't?

Dear FlightOpenings,
If you want to pay me for my services you can fill my paypal via the email I registered with. Thanks.

I was told by what I would consider a pretty credible source that MAC will be hiring ATR F/O's soon. Whether or not it's posted right now, I don't know. BUT, I do have my resume primed and ready!!!!

LastTraintoMEM 07-27-2009 04:10 PM

Well, I met all quals plus some, and decided to apply for this last Friday. Got my, "Thanks for the app, but you are not what we need now" email today. That was quick! If they are hiring, they must have gotten a ton of apps where they can be extremely picky, or they are just testing the waters. Anyone else get a rejection/interview? Curious to see how many people get the reject.

Applied for both positions and didn't get any email. Maybe no news is good news.

DC2495 07-27-2009 08:26 PM

I applied for both also, meet the mins plus. I haven't heard from them at all...I'm hoping for the "no news is good news" option!

LastTraintoMEM 07-28-2009 12:18 PM

For those who get interviews, I would like to hear your quals. I thought I would be the MAC wet dream. I have 2100tt, 1200 turbine, 500 turbo prop in both 135 and 121. All the hours are 135/121 but the first 400. Maybe they want to hire these laid off guys with 10k plus and 747 types. Who knows. I have the image in myhead of a 19 year old intern chewing gum and playing enie meenie minnie moe with the apps while she talks on the phone with her boyfriend.

Well, I checked the box to agree for the salary they posted, which was $26,???. Not great pay, but better than most.

I met their mins but got an e-mail today

Dear Applicant, Thank-you for your recent inquiry into a position with Mountain Air Cargo, Inc. I have a feeling since it is because I am on furlough.

What's wrong of being furloughed?, they usually give you options in order for them to secure your labor.

I checked the box, but still said I wanted to make more... My dad always said beggers can't be choosers, but there's no harm in a little hageling is there? I still haven't gotten anything back besides the thank you for submitting your application with employease.

I always figure it was like haggling for a better price at The Walmart- probably fruitless. They pay one pilot more than another, and word gets out (and it will!) Then you got a mess.:D

TopGear 08-14-2009 12:23 AM

Ok, I might be losing it seeing as I am looking for jobs way past midnight but I swear I saw a listing for a C-208 Captain at MAC that said they Pay $40,000 plus and then about 30 minutes later I could not find it again.

Anybody think they are paying 40k plus for a Van captain?

Cheers

rvrabel2002 08-14-2009 03:47 AM

Does anyone know if they hired FO's here? I have seen several posts from well qualified pilots on here that says they didnt even get a call back. I applied (hovering on the low end ~1100 hours, 160 multi) and got the standard thanks for your resume, which i figured. Wouldnt it be prudent for an op like MAC to hire someone like myself? I mean realistically, they're going to train some furloughed regional guy, who, once he gets called back to his/her airline, will jump ship. From a business standpoint, don't they realize that a guy like myself, who will have thousands of competitors once the market stabilizes and hiring begins (whenever this may be), will practically have to stay their regardless of qualification. Or do they just like to train people for a 6 month stint? Sorry for the rant guys, I'm just tired of instructing like many of us grunts...

joemhama 08-14-2009 05:11 PM

No luck here. I applied (horrible application website btw) a few weeks ago and havent heard anything. Its strange bc ive seen them advertise on 350 quite a bit lately. You would think they have enough apps by now?

Hey all,

I actually just got a slot with MAC this week, but am awaiting a class date. I think it's supposed to be mid next month or so. Anyway, they ARE hiring, but have a TON of resumes/applicants. I was initially interviewed for an ATR F/O position, but expressed a great deal of interest in the van and they actually ended up giving it to me.

I wouldn't take it personal if they don't call, I am seriously still having a hard time believing they called/hired me with the competitiveness of the industry right now. The market is simply CRAZY saturated.

I am a recently "furloughed" (company shut down) corporate guy with roughly 3 years of freight/135 exp, including prior van time. Sitting right around 4000 TT with over 2000 of it night, 3,800+ PIC.

cessnamann 08-16-2009 06:40 PM

I have 1220TT and 300 some multi/turbine and got the thanks, but no thanks. I guess they have a lot of high-time applicants.
