Virgin America hiring
Just heard that VA is going to hire 72-100 pilots for 2010 starting in January.
For the 106 furloughed ALK guys & gals, you might want to submit an application. CM works there now and she may be able to answer some questions for you if you contact her.
I'm just posting this as information only. I don't work for VA, so don't shoot the messenger.

thanks Homa,
I did submit my app a few months ago and updated it last week. No word yet. For whatever is worth, I have 6k total, 5700PIC and 3000jet.
As you said Cubdrick, I hope this is a sign for things to come. I'm on my 3rd month collecting unemployment.

When you post your qualifications you might add a couple of other items that are critical to getting hired at a major airline. Your level of education. What your degree is in, gpa and what managerial experience you might have. Most pilots are qualified to fly at this stage of the game. What decides who gets hired is how well the airline feels you can manage a 80 to 200 million dollar asset for them.

Sailingfun,
You bring about an excellent point in the importance of citing more than just raw hours and is information obviously covered on my resume. With the amount of high time furloughs out there, if it becomes a purely number game I'll never get an interview.
FWIW: Cum Laude in Aero Engineering at Notre Dame. Since graduation, flying active duty Navy and managing divisions of 20-75 enlisted personnel.
