Wrong thread.

your question should be asked in one of the FAA ASI/Safety Inspector threads.

Yes.
I’m curious why you would ask.

Thanks for the info. Just out of pure curiosity is all.

So does anyone know how/why CBP AMO is able to waive the 100 hours in last 12 month requirement? No other agency has done it. Cbp even advertised it on their website.

Just funny to me that a FAA branch can't waive it.

That is a really good pay scale now. Puts them and CBP more less dead even for pay when you add on CBP LEAP (25%). Wish I had the 100 hours. I would apply to both. I've done a ride along with flight check, seems like a fun job.

The flight check retirement I'm assuming is 30 years instead of the law enforcement 25?

Not sure if I know what you mean about Flight Check retirement.
It is the standard FERS.

Ya FERS has a special law enforcement retirement age/duration. You can retire after 20 years if you are 50 or older OR retire at any age with 25 years of service. The standard Minimum Retirement Age under non LEO FERS is 57 for those born after 1970, which for me would be 31 years. You can retire earlier but a deduction is made for each year you retire earlier.

Then for LEO FERS you get additional percentage toward your retirement. Under LEO you get 1.7% of your high 3 for first 20 years then 1% for every year pass 20. Where the standard FERS is 1% for every year if under 62. (1.1% if over 62).

BUT the LEO employees put more into retirement while they work...
