It’s a technical assessment that they email you. One hour to complete once you start.

I received an invite to the tech panel interview next week as well, but it doesn’t appear to be a test, as I have zoom login instructions and was told it’s a 3 person interview panel.

That’s correct. Mine is too. The tech assessment is after the panel interview.

Where did you get the information about the assessment? My email made no mention of assessments, just an interview. Curious if it’s location specific. I’m interviewing for Sacramento

Hey everyone, looking to get some general info about the inspection pilot job opening that is currently out. Im currently ATC, at a level 12 center about half way through my training, it’s going well but Im not sure it’s really something I want to do long term. The summers can be incredibly draining and many 6 day mandatory work weeks is not ideal. I was was a pilot for nearly ten years before doing this and I really thought ATC was a good option. I have a good friend who currently works FLC and enjoys the work. I have two young kids and I want to know what to expect as far as how many days I can expect to be away from home, how morale is, and if the job gives you a good sense of satisfaction. Most of my time is 135, with a small amount of 121. I was told most holidays off and weekends. How much work from home is involved? Are you required to be at your physical station every day when you’re not on a trip? Those who have families do you feel the job leaves a good balance of work and home life?
Any comments are welcome, just want to get some more info, thanks!

Meatphish -

Reach out to the poster who replied above your first post in this thread.
He is a new hire and can give you come 'new hire' thoughts on the organization/job. He is through initial training and has just 'hit the line' today as a matter of fact.
Otherwise - if you have specific questions you can ask them here or PM me, but most of the information you are looking for is covered in the last couple of pages of this current thread; plus I believe you say you have a good friend who currently works for FLC, unless it is some FIFO (office) specific items that may be slightly different I'd think that friend would be as good a source of information as any you'll find here on the internet.

Thank you USMCFLYER, I’ve read many of your posts and they’ve been very helpful, as well as many others who have posted.
