Techincal Pilot for GE

See job link posted below, I noted that the Lead Tech Pilot for this area needs an ATP and a Type Rating.

Anyone heard of this job or know / knew someone who did this? What's it all about?

Thanks!

GE Energy Technical Pilot Kent WA

Yes, I accidentally misspelled technical....for those that noticed. Sorry.

Don't know a lot, but have a friend doing it right now. All I know is you don't actually fly, but rather fly in a sim and design/implement RNP approaches for airports around the world. He enjoys it and I think the money is decent.

Would you mind querying him and getting some specifics? Curious as to the requirements (the MEI) if you aren't flying. Experience? What does anyone know at 500TT?

Min requirements show 1,500TT with 5 years Part 121 experience. An engineering degree or aviation related degree is also required.

Sounds like it could be a pretty good gig.

Sure, for the LEAD. Just the regular Tech Pilot jobs show 500TT, a B.A / B.S and an MEI.

I think they may have reduced the requirements for this job. The 1,500 hrs, 5 years 121 exp and "type rating in project aircraft preferred" used to be listed as requirements for Tech Pilot. This job has been advertised on and off for quite some time.

Naverus is owned by GE, so it is probably them.
