I dont get where the company wins. If they force contract, pay stays low, they **** everyone off in the process, their pilots leave and it will get harder and harder to recruit and fill planes with qualified pilots.
Because in all realitiy who's coming here but the lowest qualified pilots that will be left in the industry?
At some point the scales will tip and training dept will not be able to keep up with their demand.

It only takes one crash to really change things, and the way they are pushing people through the pipeline, the exposure is really high. We have been super lucky a handful of times but I am really concerned by the fact that we are counting on luck and sustaining losses by training as fast as possible.

Many Atlas pilots are predicting that a crash is on the horizon. The hiring minimums are at 1500 hours and an ATP. Upgrade is now under three years on the 767. What happens when you take a Captain with less than two years at the company, who was hired at minimum hours and place him with a new hire First Officer with minimum hours? Our complex operating environment simply doesn't support this hiring practice.
The blood will be on the FAA and Atlas Executive's hands....
Completely preventable and sad.

Not to say we don't have a lot of really capable competent pilots but it just takes once. Also not to say that a 767 or 747 takes extraordinary skill to fly, they don't, but the nature of the operation is challenging in that we get so few cycles, it is really hard to become and maintain proficient skill. I average 24 landings per year. The wrong combination just once is all it takes, I won't be surprised when it happens. We have been really really lucky a couple times recently and the 'put bodies in the seats' mentality is undeniably an increased risk.
A certificate doesn't live in limbo. You used to be able to put the cert in a drawer and pull it out again later. Now they'd to keep the CP, DO, DM, CI and DS. And if there's no activity for a period of time, 6 months rings a bell but I don't recall for sure, the Feds will ask for it back.

Probably turn it in and write the whole thing off. They had a few low-ball offers from what I've heard. Good riddance......I don't think anyone here wants that certificate hanging around.
