Nearly two thirds of that number left for greener pastures.

The seniority list now has 1486 pilots.

This year alone they have hired 119 and lost about 100.

You may want to consider why this is happening.
Global warming? The Russians? Nope. Just lack of a good contract and an dearth of leadership in high places.

Anyone in the upcoming June 767 class?
I know the pay difference between the 76 and 74, but what other differences can one expect going the 76 route?
Thanks..

On the 76 you'll find a real flight training program and thinner crews.

If 1 engine fails you're going to land somewhere soon. The 767 side of Atlas is totally different than the 747 side, in a good way. I have been on both sides and the 767 side is much more enjoyable.

No doubt about the engine failure.

That's what I've heard from most 76 guys I talk to. Looking forward to making the transition from 74 to 76 soon. See you over there.

Attitude is everything. The schoolhouse sets the tone - 767 is about teaching and instruction. 747 is about evaluation and checking (although it's getting better). The 767 is more regional - you'll find yourself in certain "buckets" of flying. Domestic cargo, a few spots in Asia, or AMC (domestic/Germany/Kuwait, mainly). For example, if you're in TPE, your pattern will typically stay intact. on the 747, your pattern can change every time you land. on the 747, i was typically out close to 17 days and was usually on the other side of the globe. on the 767, except for CA OE, i haven't been abroad since July, and do more like week on/week off (well, 8 or 9 on). On the 767, I also feel like a pilot again.

but again, the 747 is getting better. new CAs bring new attitudes, and the ship is slowly turning around in MIA.

more $$$ on the 747 side. i would've gotten a ton more PIC on the 747 had I waited. but for me, 767 is the right fit.

Any advantages/disadvantages to where you are based (CVG vsJFK) with regard to schedule, type of flying, and most importantly lol, being able to bid trips that will allow a start directly from gateway to hopefully avoid imputed and maybe keep from commuting on an off day?
I've heard that bidding can be done to minimize the commutes on days off, but having never worked there, I really only can guess as to how often that might be doable.
Looking forward to the opportunity, and glad you guys are chiming in with some insight and info about that side of the house. Everyone I know is on the 74 side.

By the time you can hold jfk you will either know the answer to your own question or will be in upgrade class to stay in cvg.
