Those ACMI customer contracts you speak of that can't support an industry standard cba can be renegotiated in bankruptcy as well. That is exactly what Republic had to do in order to compete for pilots in the marketplace.

I'm not saying it is a foregone conclusion that Atlas Air will declare bankruptcy but the possibility is far from ridiculous.
C'mon it is ridiculous... when was the last time an airline, or any company for that matter, declared bankruptcy while it was profitable? We haven't had a real quarterly loss or an annual loss in some time. Moreover, I think I read somewhere today where this company had the highest free cash flow per share of any Company in air freight and logistics industry. While "anything is possible" it's pretty remote and absurd to suggest they would bankrupt the company as the reason to simply avoid paying us.

Be careful out there :-)
Woah. That's insane. Thank you for the thoroughness in answering my question! Seems like gusty winds would be a PITA and pretty stressful for captains watching the new guy give it a go.

De Nile ain't just a river, man....

By the way, you do know they could go out and spend all the money airplanes, parts, pull forward scheduled maintenance, etc. and start showing a loss anytime they want, right? Doing so is a perfectly legal in accounting.

On the flip side, they could not reinvest a single penny in the company and show a record profit as well.

If any of you are on the 767 side and wouldn't mind me if hit with a couple questions, please shoot me a PM!

It's not denial it's just my opinion. I stipulate that you did answer my question in that it happened last year. However as you highlighted capital reinvestment at this place is significant (like half a billion on average per year). Again, while "anything is possible" I don't see a company with these resources/finances declaring bankruptcy just to spite the pilots at the expense of the shareholders. And anyway, why are you answering me? Don't you have some negotiations to prepare for?

Haha, I guess I do now, but I always need to keep a pulse on the group. As you know, things have been a bit slow lately but should be spooling up a bit. See you around campus rosa!

Default questions....

Hello everyone. I am interested in applying at Atlas and had a few questions.

Is it possible to hold JFK as a new hire on the 747?
How long are the trips usually?
Do you guys get food on your flights?
Is it true that you can make $150K your second year?
What are some of your regular destinations?
How long to hold CA?

Thanks.

You must be trolling because any reading in this thread would answer your questions, but I'll humor you.

I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. I just couldn't let this thread go over two weeks without a single post. I've already been here a while.
