A point on the recent agreement with Southern and Atlas Management.... Be careful on taking a job at Atlas. If you are stuck on the 737 at Southern because you took a job at "Atlas" please know that the rates are based on the percentage of weight of the 747. The 737 is so light that you'll be getting new hire rates until 3 years after starting at Atlas PLUS your award and completion of training in a larger aircraft. The 737 is too light to ever get more than the new hire pay.

The moral to the story is that IF you accept that job at Atlas you may not know what you'll be getting until the details of this deal shake out.

So the way I read the contract, Atlas 737 rates would actually be a pay cut 2nd year, then back to newhire pay 3rd year.

Was it a 747 class of 28, or a 767 class of 8 or 6, or was in a Southern new hired class of ???

Thanks for your info...

Those are good points about the 737 pay rates. It’s still a major improvement to what current Southern 737 guys are making. My point isn’t to be thankful for what we (Atlas) have, but to highlight just how low the compensation is at Southern.

On a separate note we really do need to change the way we’re running the forums on the 1224 website. It’d be far better to let people speak their mind there than have all these discussions on a public forum. Censoring the forums is a bad move.

Yeah, It'll be the same three or four guys slamming the union with conspiracy theories and slander. I see enough of that here to want to go there.

I have no role in that but I wouldn't be using the 1224 forum because it's a waste of time. Giant Comms is where the conversation is and those who were banned were accusing people of committing crimes.
Instead of those individuals discussing that here or on Giant Comms they should take their evidence to the police to prosecute those who are "stealing". That being said I didn't agree with banning them.
A warning would've sufficed with a suggestion to take their "evidence" of corruption (and tin foil hats) to the authorities. That's just me...

I'm extremely excited for the guys/gals on the Southern list. This is great for those on their list. It's not a good deal for people who don't currently work at Atlas in my opinion. The seat locks are expiring on the 737 and all of those guys will go to the 777 meaning that if you take a job at Southern you will be on the 737. If you take a job at "Atlas" I'd be careful as well. Also, the 767 is now a horrible deal as well so if you take a job at either you risk being on new hire pay for 3 years. Slightly more than new hire pay on the 767 ($5 an hour bump year 2)...

I bet they get year 1 pay until year 4 which won't be relevant because your seat lock would be up.
