You do what you want, but I assure you. HR will tell you what you want to hear.

Fact- lowest paid in industry
Fact- worst contract
Fact- 21 day trips
Fact - junior manning and you have to do it.
Fact- 5 year upgrade minimum
Fact- zero announcements of any growth.
Fact- plan on doing a lot of r-3 at the CVG hub ( 3am-9am)
Fact- no CBA anytime soon. Still locked in legal battles.
Fact- record overtime trips and no net growth of pilots over the last 6 months.
Fact- no way to break 62 hours of pay, unless you ***** yourself out.

Come on over and see for yourself

The airline ads around the perimeter of this page are a better choice than coming to Atlas. Trust me.

This place is a dumpster fire of a airline, but lets not claim things as a fact that aren't, and as bad as we have it here, a lot of guys would view it as a step up.

True. There are some short sighted pilots that would pay money out of pocket to fly here in exchange for a 767 type and some heavy time, so it's no surprise that they come here and accept the dismal working conditions that Atlas offers. They get hired at Atlas with a plan to move on as soon as possible and have little regard for the ongoing war between the company and the pilot group. Unfortunately, many of these folks end up needing the protection of the union for contractual violations and leach valuable union resources at a time when the union needs as much time and energy as possible to fight for a new contract.

I think you are missing my point, ask a guy at Miami Air, WGA or Air 21 if Atlas would be a step up for them and I am willing bet at least 99% would say yes. We have a lot of issues, a lot aren't going to be fixed with a new CBA as long as SL and JC are at Atlas. But as bad as it is at Atlas it is light years ahead of other airlines. I would say most I have talked to are ready to fight because they know how bad it can get if we don't win.

^ truth. It’s not what it should be for sure, but for me at least it’s better than where I came from in terms of compensation, and time off. We don’t need to exaggerate to make our point that there are areas that need vast improvement to ensure the sustainability of the operation.

To this end I must shake my head and wonder. We are so far off the charts it's not even a conversation. We are truly at the bottom of the barrel and we are only fooling ourselves if we try to convince ourselves otherwise.

Yup. For sure Atlas is just great if you have been flying jalopies for 200 bucks a month. The problem here is that the new hires are comparing Atlas to where they came from and those of us already here compare it to where we should be. The fact that a guy has been flying open cockpit crop dusters and we have pressurization shouldn't be the metric by which we are measured. Atlas pilots will never get the contract that we deserve if pilots have no idea of their own worth.

I am reminded of a conversation that I had years ago when the captain of the United plane I was jumpseating on asked me if I would be willing to fly left seat in his 767 for 150 bucks an hour. As a brand new regional pilot I said "sure, I'd love to". He turned to his FO and said "See, THAT's what we're up against".

Know your worth.
