Upgrade time in the 767 was as low as 2.5 years. Growth has slowed now that we've staffed our Amazon 767s, although the 747 fleet continues to add planes. Most people are saying 4-5 years for a new hire to upgrade today.

They offer you class dates and fleets when they call with the job offer. You can turn down a fleet and opt for another class date in a different fleet. There's no promise that you'll be called back with another offer, however.

Also, for folks coming here, I didn't have a "bad" captain as an FO. I haven't had a "bad" FO as a captain here. The back and forth we sometimes see on the internet really isn't reflective of our people.

For data on compensation, benefits, gateway and how we stack up to other companies there's a website listed elsewhere which has contracts up for all to see.

how/when do you get to pick your fleet? if you really wanted the 74 and not the 76 could you get guaranteed a fleet before accepting a CJO?
Guarantee? Are you joking? Atlas offers no guarantees to anyone, especially people who only have an offer.

What can you expect in the interview?
Tests? Technical? Sim eval?

Relaxing or stressful?

Just dress business casual and bring your logbooks. Good luck.

You'll sit down with HR, a panel of pilots and get a technical portion from one of our senior captains. It's pretty relaxed. At some point you'll be in a conference room waiting for your turn to visit with a particular interviewer. There will be an HR rep in the conference room with you as you hang out, drink coffee and eat snacks. This is still part of the interview.

It's pretty relaxed. Their goal is to get to know you; having you on edge doesn't help them do so. Hope this helps.

They want you to be honest about wanting to leave for other airlines. They'll still hire you if you are truthful and say that you plan to go to FedEx or UPS soon. They are just that desperate .
