No, that is not happening. There are failures, but not an abnormal amount. My class had about 5 failures which was on the high side, but the next class only had 1 failure.

Nonetheless, I would check the W2 thread ( 2017 W2 Earnings ).

putting in an app this week... how long does it typically take to receive a response and interview if they select you for one?

Hard to say. Probably less than an hour... they are really needing guys to fail bidding 101 an end up doing a 34 day pattern, followed by an involuntary 3 day extension, followed by a 2 day commute from ANC home. Oh- and don't forget about the 2 day commute to ANC, all on your days off without pay. But hey- at least you get a paid hotel in ANC once your there.

Failures are more common, but not what anyone would consider high, overall. It's a confluence of things. Experience levels are dropping, and Training, long used to having experienced ACMI pilots as new hires, is slow to adapt. That said, the instructors WANT you to get through and anyone should be able to get through.

Make it easy on yourself - make sure things are squared away at home (you'd be surprised). Cooperate/graduate. Focus on what they tell you to focus on. Don't be a party animal.

Some failures aren't who you'd expect - a veteran RJ CA, for example - but there's no single factor you could point to. This is not a hold-your-hand Training system.

Come ready to learn. Be involved with your class and your instructors, no matter how you're doing. Reach out for help at the first sign of trouble. Do it the way they want you to do it. Go with the flow.

We've had plenty of people from all experience levels get through with issue. The same likely holds true for the few failures.

Thanks for the reply. Kind of reinforced what I expected. The failures are more self inflicted than systematic it seems.
