I’m a 3rd year FO at atlas and I don’t expect that I’ll be able to hold CA for another 18-24 months. Upgrade times are getting longer, as well. I would guess that it’ll stabilize around the 5-6 year mark.

Default huh?

OK, retired military looking at airline jobs, and pretty clueless of course when it comes to some airline pilot terms/lingo.
Forgive my ignorance, but what do the initials "CA" stand for?
For example, it was used in the post above this.

Thanks

Since December 2018, Atlas has had a net loss of 27 pilots. There is a reason that more are leaving than can be replaced...

I was snooping around, trying to find free burgers and Chik-fil-a when I saw that we are interviewing right now in MIA.

Interviews are stressful at any company. For whoever showed up and spoke with our team, I hope you all do well. We wish you all the best.

I don't know what Cliff is looking at. December 31, 2017 Atlas had 1583 pilots on the seniority list. On December 31, 2018 there were 1724, a gain of 141. But the hired 328 pilots last year. So they have to hire 2.3 pilots to grow the list by one. They hired a bunch of pilots the first part of 2018. The list hit 1723 at the end of May so all the hiring over the summer has brought a net gain of one pilot.

You do know that the Atlas seniority lists, while published on the 15th, are representative of the situation at the end of the prior month? It says that at the top of each page. And that 1741 (the Nov 30 number of Atlas pilots) minus 1724 (the Dec 31 number of Atlas pilots) is 17?

Still, losing one every other day is impressive. The Jan 14 class of 23 will just balance out.

I used the 15Dec2017 Bid Award, total pilots on that list, compared to the 15Jan2017 Bid Award, total pilots on that list.
