ICN BASE
Sorry to open up a new thread.
1. I am wondering if it is possible to actually " LIVE " in ICN while flying for Atlas?
2. which fleets and bases should I choose to live in ICN?
and will they be available to new hire pilots?
3. How are the schedules looking and how many days will I be availble to spend time in ICN?
How many days off are possible?
4. Will a Reserve life also allow me to live in ICN?
sorry to ask you guys many questions in once..
and thank you for your kind answers in advance.

1. I personally know of one crew member who lives full time in ICN. It's possible.
2. The 747 would probably be best, but the 777 would work too. Being based in ANC on the 747 is the best base for an ICN resident. The 767s and 737s would not work.
3. The schdules change every month due to customer requirements and company (poor) planning. I usually count on seeing ICN once or twice every month. You will be owed 13 or 14 days off every month depending if it's a 30 or 31 day month. How you bid determines whether those days are in one block or broken up. Basically count on one week on; one week off. Or two weeks on; two weeks off. And be flexible. Every month is different, I can't say it enough.
4. Atlas still hasn't figured out how to run a functional reserve program, so don't come here expecting what you may have experienced at other airlines. And we're still low on staffing so that means almost everyone on the 747 and 777 is out flying. No one is sitting for a week in a hotel at their base.
I hope that's somewhat helpful.

2. 747 ANC or LAX, 77 LAX
3. You can bid a fixed pattern
line once a year which means you start the next year always the beginning or the middle of the month which means 12-13 days at home.
4. No, you wouldn’t make it to your (USA) starting point within the required time.

Secondary line, at 19z two days prior to a work day you check your schedule, if no flying is assigned then it becomes a day off. It usually pays less, 64 hours but you usually get a lot more days off. And if you have flying you usually start with at day 1 instead of day 0.

I am currently home in Europe, my first day is March 14.
On March 12 @19z I will check my schedule. If no flying is added on the 14th then it will become a day off. The company cannot add any flying to that day after 19z.
Then on March 13 @19z I will check my schedule for March 15th and so on.
Usually when they assign you flying like this you are able to start somewhere else than your base. E.g ICN if the company knows where you are.
No, reserve is completely different, that is in base. It the company pays for the hotels, so no Crashpad is needed.
SCDY usually give you a few days more off but at the same time, because our pay is usually based it CRT, then less days mean less CRT. So SCDY is usually just 64 hours of pay.
