UPS Hiring Plans
{UPS PILOT HIRING}
UPS is shedding more light on their pilot hiring numbers. Friday's Chief Pilot's Information Line announced hiring projections of about 150 crews for the remainder of 2006. The conservative projection would take the seniority list from 2,760 crewmembers to 2,910 by the end of the year. The initial hiring estimate for 2007 is also 150 pilots.
I would suspect that we will start hiring as fast as possible next spring, JMHO. OUr biggest year was 300, and the choke point will be the training center, we are already severly mismanned on the MD11, that system is taxed beyond its limit and with 10 more coming on property next year, I have no idea on how we will ever staff them.
