Default Southwest hiring in 2011
From a chief pilot:

Just under 200 pilots will be hired in 2011 (207 are in the pool).

Starting with two classes of 24 each in January...

There will be 3 classes in Jan, 3 in Feb and 2 in Mar. At least that is what we, the poolies, were told at the "re-interview." Standing by for the "re-call."

Depends on the results of the reinterviews, as well as how many poolies are still interested. I think the 207 number is a bit high, but that's just from rumor. Most poolies eagerly accepted the reinterview, and are waiting for results of Nov decision board. Just my guess, but I (a lowly poolie, mind you) predict 50 off the street for March (interviewing in Dec / Jan). Just a guess. Bacon

I heard 80-90% of the poolies are taking up the offer of a final interview. Based on that, I don't expect off-the-street hiring to happen until 2012 at the earliest.
