ATL job fair 6/11
 

I will be attending the job fair tommorow in ATL i'm currently at 810tt 55multi. This is the first job fair i have ever gone to and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on what to expect? its pretty much for the whole day ending around 5 i believe. do you stay around for the whole thing? do airlines take turns giving presentation about their company? I'm mainly going to talk to the ZW recruiters as i already work for the airline but would it be wierd if i went to talk to them and then walked over to the eagle/asa/expressjet guys and talked to them about a job? should I be prepared to answer some basic HR questions? I will be staying at the hotel the night prior. is it best to go down right when they start or maybe wait a little bit? also not to sure on the dress code but i will be wearing a suit. any info would be appreciated thanks

I hope your resume has better grammar than that post. Wear a suit, be personable. With your low time say your working very hard to get your time up esspecially your multi. Talk to everyone and drop off resumes with all. Don't just put all your eggs in one basket. Good luck.

Geez FL410, I've read plenty of your posts, you're far from having the right to be critical of anyone's grammar.:)

To the OP, first off, casually late is great for your friend's party, but I would try to be there waiting when the doors open. You want to demonstrate that you can be punctual and you're eager to meet with them. Don't worry about your current employer seeing you meeting with other airlines, it is a job fair. They of all people should understand it's business and not personal.

I've never been to a job fair but I would assume they will ask some interview type questions as a way to qualify and screen applicants. A business suit would be the appropriate attire and it sounds like you have that covered. Good luck!

They will give you a schedule at the door to tell you which airline will be giving presentations at designated times. Generally the airlines do multiple presentations. Stay as long as you need to, but with the opportunity to network --- make some friends, exchange emails... facebook... whatever blows your hair back. It would be weird if you did NOT walk over to another line and talk to another set of recruiters after talking to the ZW recruiters... it's a job fair after all. Staying at the hotel -- get down there before they start, some of the recruiters may be milling around - try to start a conversation and yes, be ready to answer some basic HR questions - when they look at your resume they might want to take notes and fill in the gaps.

The dress code for these events has been debated to death on the forums. I have been to a few fltops job fairs and have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter one bit. If you are comfortable casual, go casual, if you can't see yourself talking to a recruiter in anything less than a dark blue suit with a red tie... wear it. Whatever makes you comfortable. If it's your first shot, you're going to be nervous enough as it is, who cares how you dress.
