Default Regional Job Fair Summary

Good Morning All, I'd like to take a few minutes to update you on what I saw that Job Fair in Dallas yesterday:

Cape Air - Looking to Hire- Must meet 135 Mins. No more copilots as co pilots are jumping ship after hitting the multi and time mins for airlines with shiny jets. They will hire with 135 and transition you to 121 upon completion of ATP

ASA- 700 /100 - 3 Checkride failures and your out. Currently they are only accepting two. The recruiter pulled up my airline apps and told me to go "fly for Go Jet or someone who will hire you with three busted and come back in a year" . He also mentioned instructing and 135 would not help me prove myself at this point. Actually put a bad taste in my mouth the way he said it. I came with every intention of really liking ASA..

PSA- Hiring , I had 820 / 130 and they said I was competitive. Got his card and he told me to mail in the application via the old fashion print and fedex. He pretty much said 1500 and 500 is not realistic at this point. I also asked about checkride bust. They guy said " So what ? I'm a check airmen and I've failed before? " He said they are more concerned with 121 bust. 61 not an issue, they understand and just want to get to know you. PSA hiring 10/Month for a while they said.

Compass - Recruiters where nice, as you know they are hiring. Minimums are a little flexible from what it sounds like. They told me to apply and keep in touch.

Mesaba - Actively hiring , don't plan on getting on with more then two bust. Obviously juniors are going to LGA on SAAB.

Skywest - Loved em! Absolutely fantastic company. Recruiter asked if I had skeletons in the closet, I told him I had 3 busted rides. He said " So what? " . Apparently they hire people ,not just pilots. They want to get to know you and why you failed and how you fixed it. I really enjoyed the whole skywest teams presentation and outlook. Minimums are not budging. 1000 / 100 is the absolute bottom. I did get a "Call for interview" on my resume and a business card. Upon reaching the 1000 I will surely be sending my information directly to him.

Eagle- The line was 5 times longer then any other line. No offense to people with low time but this seems to be "Mecca" for all of the guys looking to by-pass standard time building and get into some air conditioning. Don't blame em though. Needless to say, Eagle will have a flood of applications I'm sure. 2 Failures is even shaky with them. They send you to ATP before going to training. ATP is paid , if you make it out, you go to training.

AirNet Systems- Really Cool Company. If you've got 135 mins and multi time they want you. I have an old roommate who works for em. Recruiter knew him by name , also knew his equipment and base. Goes to show they are a close knit group.

Well I hope this helps you all a bit. Sorry I cant go into the super minor details but I just want to give everyone and idea of where the hiring is at with times and bust. Seems to be a popular topic.

thanks!

I am not going there, but what do you mean by Cape Air not taking copilots?

Not interested in flying turbo props? Don't just ignore them. They can get you in the door and are a lot of fun. I have my PIC type in the CRJ and the DHC-8 was more difficult to learn and way more gun to fly!

@PurduePilot88, what made you get the impression Mesaba new hires are LGA Saab? I know that is where the classes have been going but did recruiters specifically say that? Just wondering.
