I've been told that DAL likes to staff for the summer. Which means if there is enough bodies to fly the 2013 summer schedule, which there is, then they will probably hold off hiring until the late summer/early fall.
At least that is what I've been hearing, and I can see them waiting much longer than that. Good news is once it starts it will be continuous for quite some time.
