Default Redding Aero

Heres some info for you frieght dogs looking for work.

Redding Aero is based in Redding ca with operations out of MHR. I left there not to long ago to persue some GOV work. Great group of guys, and they mainly fly 402's with a 208 or 2 on the way (i left before it came online). They fly ups volume all over norcal. Id suggest visiting them in redding and see if they have anything open, thats your best bet. Pay was on par with or even a bit better than amflight.

Also they want to get a year out of you before you leave, no training contract
Good luck

Default Good place to work

I know people that work/have worked at Redding Aero and they universally loved the management there.

Most jobs use it to see if you are a responsible person, going by the assumption that a responsible person would never allow themselves into large debt. Also, I know for higher security jobs they use the credit score as a way of assuring trust. Someone with a good credit score and little to no debt has no reason to steal from the company because they wouldn't be desperate.

Crappy reasoning in my opinion, seeing as how one may need said job in order to pay-off debts....

I was the Chief Pilot there from 2004 until May 2013. It was a great place to build quality mutli time. The D.O. does the inital training and does a great job, mx is great they have had the same group of guys working on those C402's for 15+ years and know them inside and out. The bad is that the new Chief Pilot is in way over his head and has no clue to what he is doing. The D.O. picked him and basically has made him his puppet boy. I have heard the Chief Pilot ask the line pilots to do things that were illegal and forunately the line pilots were smart enought to say no. Like is said great place to build quality multi time just make sure you know the regs cause the Chief Pilot doesn't.

I don't think they will be hiring any time soon, at least not for time builders. They have plenty of resumes coming in from guys with thousands of hours of turbine PIC. Go down there and introduce yourself to Victor and Alan, don't just apply.

With operations out of MHR would it be possible to live in the Sacramento area while working for Redding Aero? I currently fly USCG C-130s out of MCC and looking at retiring next summer. Trying to stay local until my kids get through high school. This could be the perfect job.

I know historically and this was the case before I got there that they/we looked for low time guys 1200-1500 hrs and a strong back ground in flight instruction. We used to get a lot of resumes from the high time guys. I think the mindset was high time guys with turbine/jet time would leave as soon as something else came up. Maybe things have changed.
