I am surprised...thought there were 1000+ pilots on furlough.

As an Atlas poolie, Im still applying to ABX. Never know when Atlas will call, if ever....

Not through the furlough list yet, they are just getting a pool of applicants for future hiring....

So I'm hearing about lots of bypassing, but why? I've applied and want to know what I'm getting myself into if they call. Honest PM's are encouraged and appreciated.

If you dont have a job sure go ahead and apply but life at ABX can be a little tough. I was hired in 01 furloughed in 01 recalled in 07 and furloughed in 09. As an airline it seems they have gone nowhere. They always seem to be on the edge of a furlough if they lose a certain contract. In todays world there is little security in any job but on the bottom of the pilot list at ABX seems less stable than most. IMHO. I have been at Atlas for less than 4 months and I have 50 or so pilots below me and the numbers keep going up. Its all about timing.

Zero on furlough according to APC, but how many people live next door (from the application)!

Can someone who has or does work for ABX shed some light on what the company and schedule are like? How are the schedules? 14-17 days out at a time? Do they have a decent contract/work rules? If you were furloughed, did you like it while you were there? How do they compare to companies like Kalitta or Atlas? Just does not seem to be a lot of info on ABX on here so far.
