Which side? Erj side has been that way and there is no stopping with attrition this high.

ERJ side is 2 classes a month, CRJ shooting for one class a month. If you get a choice, go ERJ, as we are losing 19 CRJ-200's starting next month. Upgrade time on the CRJ is pushing 7.5 years right now. Having been on the ASA side for almost 9 years, 5.5 years on reserve as a Captain, this side is sh!t. Double the hiring and double the upgrades on the ERJ side. You do the math.......

MyPilot8 - I interviewed in IAH. What kind of details were you looking for?

Heard a rumor on an MCI base? Will it be CRJ or ERJ? Will it go senior or junior?

Thanks

Not a rumor. It opens in 30 days and will be ERJ. Should be very junior.

Hey hercguy, did you do a sim in IAH? If so how was it?

acscogginjr 09-16-2013 07:19 AM

I just interviewed in Houston and was offered a position. The interviews are conducted by the guys calling you to recruit you. The gouges for Atlanta worked well for the Houston interview. My interview was very basic and straight forward.....Tech: basic airspace, speed, altitude, and oxgen requirements as well as going over Jepp charts (approach plate, airport diagram, low enroute...). The HR was done via paper and they asked me a few questions about my answers during the tech interview. They are very desperate for pilots and are not going to make the interview difficult because they dont want to disqualify you. Belive me, the 60 question written is the hardest thing you are going to do there.

As for the sim: it is done in a non-moving level 6 sim (the controls have loading / resistance so it feels more realistic). The airplane is the ERJ 145 and you basically fly headings, altitudes, and airspeeds to get a feel for the plane. After a few minutes they start having you change 1, then 2, then all 3 of the above at the same time. You intercept a radial next and enter holding followed by an ILS approach. It was very straight forward but if you are not used to a jet, it happens QUICK!

Hope this helps, Austin
