Airline Apps Worth It?
It's been a long time since I have been in the application/interviewing game and getting ready to jump back in, so I need some intel. I've read the FAQs from Airline Apps but I'd like to hear from other pilots that have used it recently. Just wondering if paying the annual fee for Airline Apps is worth it. I know it says you can target multiple airlines by filling out one application. I just have a hard time expecting Delta and United to use the exact same application as Mesa or American Eagle.
Specifically, I am interested in applying to Delta and United. Anyone have experience paying the annual fee to apply to both? Was it fairly easy/worth it? Or were the differences in applications such that you basically had to fill out two applications anyway (negating the benefit)? With the fee, they say you can use Airline Apps to apply to airlines "outside the Airline Apps system". Which airlines? How does that work? Anyone have experience with this?
I apologize if this has been discussed already but I tried searching the forums without much luck. If someone has a link to a thread where it has been discussed, would be much appreciated.

From my experience (this month), incorrect. I have applied to both Delta and United. I have not paid one cent. Do not pay. You should not have to PAY to apply for a job. You can register for airlineapps.com for each separate application. It takes longer and is slightly more annoying, but you save lots of money. I have applied to four different jobs and have paid zero.

I think the biggest disadvantage of the free account is having to resubmit all of your recommendations every year. Not sure, but maybe you can apply now with the free membership, and if you don't get an interview within a year, convert to the paid membership and keep your apps active. Then again, not sure if it's worth the trouble to save $50.

Thanks for the responses guys.
Kind of what I was thinking too. Guess it's tax deductible, right? Any body ever used Airline Apps to apply to airlines "outside" the system? I'm still curious how that works.

I paid, mainly so I can update and have it update both United and Delta t the same time. I'd rather spend a little to make sure everything is correct and I don't forget to update one app or the other.
The problem though, is like everything else I've experienced so far, there is NO feedback. I dont know if anyone at Delta or United has even looked at my application, let alone considered it. There's just no way to know.

I think everyone that has applied received that email.
My theory is they have started to look at apps and noticed that most that applied early had not answered addendum questions that were added a few weeks after the application window was opened.
