Low time pilot looking for time building

Low time pilot looking for time building.

I think aerial photography would be a great path to go. Does any one have some information on min requirements, preferred companies, hiring windows etc. I know of Air America and Landcare, which typically start back up in Sept/Oct.

Thanks!

Not sure where in OH you are, but look at Midwest Aerial Photography in Columbus.

Throw Desert Wind Air Service on your list if they're still around. Most seasons start as you said, sept/oct, so plan on hiring to be in the summer. Typical insurance mins that I would expect are 500TT.

I talked to these guys about a month ago. I had about 450TT and they said that I met the requirements. Haven't heard from them since though...

Send a follow up call or email, let them know you are available part time as well, if they need vacation/sick time coverage, and make sure they know that your goal is to get a full time position with them.

Good luck :)

Why not instruct? Not glamorous but will teach you ALOT. If you find the right school you can even make a decent living doing it.

instructing takes WAY too long to build time, particularly in the midwest and the weather that comes along with it.

Agreed! I didn't think it would but you do! But as far as decent living, I dunno about that.
