US Airways interview process?
Can anyone shed some light on their experience (from initially applying to being offered a class date) with the US Airways interview/sim/hiring process?
Just looking for the basics, but if you are inclined to give some detailed insight to potential future new hires nobody's stopping ya! ;) Thanks |

I applied back in September last year, got a call for interview early April for a mid April interview. The whole interview took less than 3 hours, very relaxed, professional, and positive experience. Everyone at the Training Center was enthusiastic and in a good mood. Its been now close to 3 weeks since and no call. From what I have read it may take over 3 weeks to get a YES call, or NO email. As for the View Directions link I think its a software glitch, I would not pay much attention to it. In March I attended the Women in Avitation and talked to the recruiters, they told us that they have 7 buckets where candidates are placed (military pilots bucket, captains bucket, random bucket just to name a few examples) and based on your quals you may be on several buckets at one time thus increasing your chances of getting a call.

The airways interview is in "Tell me about a time " format.
I recommend an interview prep or practicing w someone that has been through it before, as it can be difficult. |
The process is very relaxed and laid back. Interviews are conducted in both CLT and PHX, and the process is the same. The schedule generally permits you to fly in, interview, and fly out on the same day. There is no written or computer testing or simulator evaluation. The interview is two three-on-one panel interviews in TMAAT format. One leans more toward the technical and the other more toward HR-type questions. You will be made to feel as at ease as you possibly can under the circumstances.
Response times vary widely. Some have heard in as little as a few days, but lately it has run out to as much as six weeks, whether the answer is yes or no. The NO comes in the form of an e-mail, and the YES comes in a phone call from the VP of Flight Ops, generally. |
I know people that heard the same week and people like myself that havent heard at all.

Assuming you would start in the E190, any idea how long it would take to get to a different aircraft?
