I was a bit encouraged when I saw that there were three vacancies.....clearly I am not on the A list but maybe they will have to dig into their B list.
I am a little leary as to why they would have a bunch of vacancies all of a sudden.....maybe folks got their hours and moved to other pastures.

If you hear them on the radio much - I'm pretty sure they aren't a lot of spring chickens!

I work for another govt flying agency, where we are GS-13 plus LEAP, not sure if this marshal job is the same pay ( It doesn't look to be). I make over 6 figures, home every night, and about as reliable of a job as you'll probably find. It is shift work, and shift work isn't for everyone. It would take the better part of 10 years (excluding UPS and Fedex) to make up money lost if I were to make the airline jump. That's assuming I wasn't furloughed inside of that 10 years. I've known people that worked for marshals as 2181s flying the MD-80. Seems like a decent gig, but may be more of stepping stone seeing that they don't get the extra LEAP pay or law enforcement pension.

Hello,
If anyone cares, there are DUSM series 1811 pilots, but limited numbers. I spoke with a DUSM today, and he said there are very few 1811 pilots there, and the aircraft are used for surveillance, etc. These positions, the applicant would need to become a DUSM first, and then apply. The JPATS are the 2181 positions that do the alien/prisoner transport, and whatever else they do...

Did anyone apply for the Saab 2000 position in Las Vegas that closed this past Sunday?
Does anyone know about the QOL, amount of flying, number of TDY trips, amount of overtime etc? Are transfers possible to OKC with transitions to the larger equipment? mt6801, thanks for providing the debrief of your experience in OKC.

Been told no LEAP and no overtime but long days. You get sent home when you hit 40 so there could be three day weekends but its basic GS-13. Also told the pilots are generally a happy bunch, though not happy about the overtime, and there are at least a good number that have been doing it 'forever'. Apparently its good for some at least.
GS-13 and no LEAP/OT ? So $70K to fly an MD-80 around ?
uhhh
