Too early to apply?

Hello all, new guy here. I'm a military pilot rapidly approaching retirement. I just completed my ATP, my Class I is next week and then I'm ready to hit submit on my airline apps. My question is, is it too early for me to be applying? I'll hit 20 years in Jan but a few, albeit waiverable, ADSC's stand in my way. Worst case scenario is that I'm about a year away from being able to start terminal leave. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Apply, yesterday. Put your first date of availability as the first day you could be on terminal.

I put mine in at the 14 month point from going on terminal--may 2014. Airline apps is the easiest to monitor/update so pay the money. Other sites (Spirit, VA, Atlas, Frontier, US Air) are all different. The extra time, money, and effort could easily pay off. Some of my friends have gotten calls as early as 6 months out, others didn't get any hits until they went on terminal so it varies based on circumstances. Get ready/study for interview and keep networking for recommendations. Lots of good advice here and many of us going through the same scenario. Good luck!

Mill...pass the above links to all your friends who are within 3 years of even possibly getting out/retiring. Encourage them to get on APC, search and read.

While perfect timing is all but unattainable and too early leads to spinning your wheels some, too late can be a huge PITY.

Thanks all for the advice and links. I'll definitely be sharing with my bros.

Just out of curiousity, how much of an ADSC are you looking to get waived? What's the ADSC for and do you really think AFPC will approve an ADSC for a pilot? I'm only asking because I'm in the same boat.
