Hiring Chances???

If you fly for an international carrier what are the chances of getting hired by a US Legacy Airline???

Do you have the right to work in the US? Do you have a US ATP? If so, probably a decent chance.

As long as you have the right to work in the United States you will have the same chance as other pilots. I've had clients who went overseas for a couple of years and they are now coming back to the US for good.

Ok thanks. And another question does having for example 737 or 320 time put you ahead of others that don't have it or its fair game and whats the average of people getting hired? 3000-4000 total?

HercDriver130 01-04-2014 05:35 AM

type rating probably makes little difference except with perhaps SWA.... 3-4000 getting hired by a legacy would be on the low side I suspect right now.

Who/what equipment are you flying?
I am on the same boat and sadly, i have not heard from legacy airlines about employment (yet)

How about the same question but coming from someone with only a 91/135 background.
