Putting in Applications

All, I would like some advice on submitting applications. Use airlineapps.com, go with separate applications per airline...? What's the best bet?

Thanks

each airline has their own addendum in addition to your main application.

Right. So use one of these companies or no?

Depends on which airlines you're applying to, and their procedures.

For most airlines on airline apps, that is the only way.

I'm not sure you completely understand the application process. If you want to fly for Delta or United, you MUST submit your app through airlineapps.com. If you want to fly for American, Southwest, or FedEx, you MUST submit your app through pilotcredentials.com. There is no going through the company instead of going to these sites. The companies have contracted through these sites to handle their apps.

I only listed a few of the majors. Several regionals also use these sites.

^^^^Wollac is right. Pay the fee at Airlineapps and you can apply to both Delta/United. Or you can do it free but have to fill out the complete app twice (just do yourself a favor and pay). Then use Pilot credentials for SWA/AA (FedEx when they open the window). For Virgin, JetBlue, frontier, Spirit, Atlas, Alaska etc. you will find a career link on their page.

Your first app will likely take you three hours to complete. Then you can print that out and use it as a reference for others. You'll get quicker at it. Start with your top choice and then keep going down the list as you have time. I recommend applying everywhere, though I know some folks who are holding out for their top choice (some are still waiting).

If you haven't done so, order your FCC permit, transcripts, passport, and get a first class medical. Make a list of all possible LOR's and start contacting them.

Good advice.
