Continental Hiring Update

From April to the end of August 2005, Continental hired 245 Pilots. Hiring continues "indefinitely".

The August 9, 2005 class was assigned to the B737 EWR base.

Pilots from this class came from:

USMC
Commutair
4 from XJT
ATA
2 from Skywest
USN
USAF
ACA

I had 2 in my class and I know of at least 2 others. 4 total that I know of....

ATA Hires

It seems the trend for ATA new hires is about 1 or 2 per class.

I will try to keep everyone updated on a weekly basis.

8/16/05 New Hire Class

All 12 New Hire Pilots at Continental will be based on the B737 in EWR.

The pilots came from:

AAE
4 from XJT
Mesa
ANG
Evergreen
2 from Chautauqua
2 from Air Wisconsin

looks like we're back to 12 per class from 20. is it going to be 12 now for the foreseeable future?

This was from todays CAL MEC update

"Over 230 pilots have been added to our ranks this year and classes of 12 pilots per week are scheduled to continue through the end of 2005."

8/24/2005 new hire class

The 12 pilots hired by Continental this week were asigned to the EWR 737 base.

They were from:

Southern Air
2 from XJT
USAF
AAE
AirTran
USN
ATA
ANG
ACA
Shuttle America
ASA

Sorry Bangalsfan, I do not have any more information about these new hire pilots than what I share with everyone.

I have heard that internal recommendations are almost a requirement.
