BILLINGS, Mont.-(Business Wire)-February 22, 2007 - Big Sky Airlines announced today that it will be hosting pilot recruiting sessions this weekend as part of its efforts to hire more than 70 pilots for its new Delta Connection operation. Big Sky Airlines will begin operations as a Delta Connection carrier from Boston Logan International Airport on April 8, 2007 using a dedicated fleet of eight 19-seat Beech 1900-D aircraft.

Open house recruiting sessions will be held on February 23rd and February 24th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Boston Logan Airport, 225 McClellan Hwy, Boston, MA, 02128. Main phone for the hotel is (617) 569-5250.
Candidates must bring an updated resume, logbooks, FAA certificates and ratings, valid passport, FCC license, and a current medical. Captain candidates must have minimum qualifications of 1500 hours, ATP written test completed, and turbo-prop or jet experience. Preferred experience includes ATP, 2500 hours, BE-1900D Type Rating, and previous FAA Part 135 or Part 121 experience.

Explain to me again why anyone with 1500 hours and turbine experience would want to fly a 1900 for 16 bucks an hour?

Perhaps so that they could get their turbine PIC time and move to the majors? Without having to wait for an upgrade. Not to mention that captains make $34 first year, not $16.

Just FYI... heard they hired 14 mechanics in Boston and then, after they hired them they were told they would be based out of Watertown. 14 out of 14 QUIT, now that's laughing material. Watch out pilots, they might try and pull the same crap with you... have you sign a training contract and then drop the Watertown bomb on you.

They are hiring street captains with close to ATP mins. With 1500 hours and turbine experience, you could be getting captain pay.

That is all I was saying.

I thought they were having problems and reducing service?
