Horizon Contract LOA Details?
Sounds like Horizon passed an LOA that increases pay for years 1-3. Since we now have sub-threads for regional airlines, I wanted to start a separate thread. Here is some info I pulled from the massive thread:
The LOA passed by a wide margin. The new pay rates are supposed to be active now although the company will F this completely and just say oops later.. anyway.. Years 1,2,3 for FOs will be $40,$46,$47. 4.2 min daily guarantee for Q drivers. 15k bonus for pilots on property (not the new hires who already got one). For new hires it will be 15k for Q400s and 10k for the jet, and the company can raise both to 25k if they want. |

I recall in reading another thread that the proposed 4.2 hour daily guarantee would be the minimum average daily credit from a trip... e.g. a theoretical 4 day trip having 2.2, 6.2, 5.2 and, 3.2 block hour days would pay 4x4.2 hours rather than 4.2+6.2+5.2+4.2. Is that the case or is it a HARD 4.2 hour guarantee.
I also recall some possible improvements to hotels...any action there? Finally, does Horizon have any trip or duty rigs? I assume no on the trip rigs (hence the daily guarantee being implemented). Can anyone point me to the contract? |

Can anyone point me to the contract? We get the better of the following trip time: 4:1 tafb 2:1 duty 1:1 block Each days credit is minimum 4.2 Hotels are improving greatly. Unfortunately it took a serious incident at one of our ghettos for the company to start making changes. Our LOA has weak language to make the union and company agree in "minimum stanards" within 30 days of ratification. That date is June 23 |
According to the "cost analysis" E-mail that the union sent out a few weeks ago, the 4.2 hours is supposed to be a daily minimum, not a daily average. Also, the 4.2 hour daily minimum was supposed to take effect immediately upon ratification. The company claims that it will take 6 months to implement and they won't make it retroactive. This will get grieved and the union will prevail, but don't expect it to be quick.
The LOA also contains some meaningless language regarding hotels. I don't expect any significant changes. The only reason that the company will ever change hotels (other than cost) is (1) violence against crew members, (2) bedbugs, or (3) an unusual volume of fatigue calls associated with the hotel. |

Wouldn't be surprised if management (especially after the BLI incident where a FA was sexually assaulted) went to the accountants and asked, "What's cheaper for the company, getting sued once in a while or paying more for safer/better hotels?" Scumbags. |

I would actually be somewhat worried if they will pay you the 10 or 15k bonus when done with IOE. Regular line pilots on the seniority list were to receive 15k upon ratification of the LOA with NO stipulations. The company then decided to change this to if you were on a medical leave of absents you will not receive it until you return.
I would think most pilots on a leave probably need it more than most, so it was a punch to the gut for those on leave. I feel for them. So with that in mind there is no reason to believe they wouldn't arbitrarily change the requirement for a new hire to receive the new hire bonus. Their track record is quite clear here. |
