Yes that is good news. But not to keep being the Debbie downer but I'd be extremely caution getting too comfortable. Especially people at the bottom. Demand has began to plateau around only 30%. I wouldn't be surprised as we get closer to the 4th quarter there isn't another round of layoffs. Look what the company just did with McGee. They will do whatever they need to slow cash burn.

Nothing really new, but I'm increasingly concerned that our flying has not rebounded to the extent expected. It looks like a mixed bag for October. The jet guys will start to do training flights in Alaska in a few weeks. The Q400 flying is supposed to be way down for October, but is expected to increase in November and December as some of the jets are deployed to Alaska.

Due to the fact that demand is not rebounding, I would not be surprised to see furloughs later this year or early in 2021 (sorry). The union and the company have negotiated a furlough mitigation program, but this may not be enough to close the gap.

News Flash: Horizon finally catches up with the rest of the universe. Yes, our Flight Ops Manual now allows pilots to have visible tattoos (with some restrictions). I have zero interest in getting a tattoo myself, but I think the change is long overdue.

It would be nice to know if we're going to be getting incentive lines or not, and when those would be happening.

I'm rather enjoying my not working schedule and would like that to continue through the fall, while I can still play golf

Based on the last "Pilot Chat" from management, I think it's likely that we'll have incentive lines in October for the Q400.

I've been here long enough to experience several "downturns". Regardless of the economy, Horizon always seems to be short-staffed "somewhere" - flight attendants, mechanics, pilots, ramp staff, etc. During the 2009-2011 furloughs, we ended up being short-staffed on PILOTS. Management was extremely reluctant to recall anyone and tried to close the gap by overworking everyone else. That was one of the few times here that I got "junior-manned" on a regular basis.

I get the impression that many of our more senior FA's are on long-term leaves. Other flight attendants are staying home with the kids, or staying away from work due to Covid concerns. That may be driving our staffing issues with respect to flight attendants.
