Horizon vs Skywest

Good Afternoon, I just took my Discovery Flight and I'm hooked. I know I have a good length of time before I need to make a decision. But I want to do my research and start the thinking process. I live about 45min from SEA. I know both Horizon and Skywest have bases in SEA. However what are the chances of getting SEA as a Domicile right off the bat? Is it something I can choose or a company decision? Would SEA be considered a very commutable base to other domiciles? Any other information I should consider during my research phase? Like Horizon Pilot Pathway vs Skywest Pilot Pathway? Pros and Cons? Thank you so much!

Congratulations on getting into flying! You'll love it!

I think right now there's too many things that can change between now and when you'd be eligible to work for Horizon, that some of those specifics aren't going to be helpful. To my knowledge SEA is fairly junior for Skywest FOs, but might be senior as a captain. Horizon may not place is you Seattle right away, but you could possibly bid into it within a few months of working. Knock out some ratings first and then work on applying into a cadet type program if you're still interested. Good luck!
