Horizon Reserve Times
 

Anyone have an updated on Reserve timelines and locations at Horizon? For PDP guys of course since there isn’t any outside hiring currently.

Currently 7-8 months of sitting reserve in anchorage from what I’m told.

We have an entire fleet going away full of pilots who are senior to you and will be bidding schedules every month as they are signed off into our half-sized fleet of jets. If you come here expecting to be on reserve until you move on, with a sprinkling of mediocre lines here and there, I'd say that's probably a good bet.

A lot longer in the lower 48. Guys that have been with the company 7-8 months haven’t been able to bid out of Anchorage.

Yea that’s disappointing. I’ve told by multiple people to pay the money back and go to Skywest but I’m still up in the air on that idea. Honestly just looking to get paid and fly. I don’t care how fast it goes. Obviously in an ideal world I’d like to get a major as quickly as possible. Just not sure what the best options are these days with all of the unknowns.

How long until you’re ready to class up?

I’ve been ready for two months. I was told Im in line to have a class in January.

Gotcha. Wish I had some good advice for you, but seems like whatever you choose is going to be somewhat of a gamble.

Yea seems to be the case. Just hope that at the very least QX doesn’t go under while I’m there on reserve.

Training dept. is second to none the best in the regionals. Well worth the wait in my opinion. You'll do great here.
