Any updates with when Horizon is going to hiring for FOs without prior experience?

Well they have put a pause on their PDP until fall, so at least until then...

It’s still going to be a while.. but I would run to Skywest if you want a west coast regional. The level to which we are overstaffed is eye watering. If you wait it out and come here fully expect at least a year of reserve and getting called once every 3-4 months. SEA and PDX reserves get used more but those bases are harder to get into now for junior guys.

Yes, until they make that $70k training bond for everyone, not just the aussies.

Got an update for you. Horizon currently has approximately 50 PDP people at their mins and ready to start training. They’re taking about 6 per class. Once they’re through training, outside hiring could start up again. At this point, I wouldn’t wait unless you really really want to be at Horizon for a long period of time. Not that you’ll be stuck here but it makes no sense to come here if you’re just gonna use it as a stepping stone. Like others have said, if you’re a PNW local or want to be based in the PNW, OO has PDX, SEA and BOI as junior bases. If the majors are your goal, go where you can get the time. All that being said, I love it here and don’t plan to leave anytime soon. Just exhaust your options and do what you gotta do.

Any word on what to expect on turnaround from hearing about acceptance into the PDP from time of application?

They just re-opened their applications for the PDP and I applied over the weekend and curious about timeline. Looks like this one is open until the end of September.

I’ve heard it’s generally a couple of months.

Does anyone know the current time between reaching hours and receiving a training class? I'm in the PD and about to hit my hours. The last update we got was that wait times were 6 months but may change with more training being done now. Anyone gone through recently?

Roughly 4-5 months from what I've seen, probably because class slots open up as people are going to other airlines for earlier dates.

#30 something On the waitlist. How many above me do you think will jump ship as theyre also on an OO waitlist? First estimate I got from PD was April or beyond, but chats with some already in think it may be Feb/March. Thoughts?
