I experienced this kind of beverage service going from EUG to SEA last summer. EUG to SEA is one hour. One-hour flights on other airlines have full beverage service. Perhaps the rule is based on flight distance, as EUG to SEA is under 250 nm.

The Q400 goes a little slower than the CRJ. Still 5x faster than driving (at least on EUG-SEA).

I've flown on both the Q400 and CRJ700 (though the CRJ was on Skywest, not Horizon), and both seem about the same in width. However, according to Seatguru.com, the Q400 has wider seats. Legroom in any regional aircraft will feel cramped. I haven't been in the lavatory on the Q400, but the lavatory on the CRJ700 is a little uncomfortable. Due to the sloping ceiling near the actual toilet, urinating standing up if you're around 6 feet tall will be a little difficult-you either have to stand 2 feet back or "do your business" sitting down. Too much information, yet true.

The Q400 is pretty quiet but you can feel everything vibrating throughout the whole flight. The CRJ700 is deafiningly loud on takeoff.

I always get full service from Seattle to Portland.. Beer, snack, ect. Whatever I want. Not sure why you only got a juice.

Free Starbucks ALL day, free microbrews and wine ALL day. The only exceptions are the very short 'limited beverage service' flights (like PDX-SEA).

And no, none of our Qs have working sinks.

I was on this CRJ700 back in 2006 flying EUG to SFO. It was one of Skywest's first -700s, according to the captain (delivered 2001 or 2002). Plus it was in United's grey colors which I thought was rare on newer UEX RJs like the -700.

I was sitting towards the back, so that may have had something to do with it. On takeoff takeoff and climbout, where I was sitting, the engines made a very loud, high-pitched scream. This may have had something to do with my seat near the back.

Stop getting so specific!!

Red, they're all quiet in when you sit up front.

I haven't flown with a regional airline in probably 10 years, but Horizon may have changed my mind about that. The CRJ was small, but not too uncomfortable. The listed 1 hour and 10 minutes was really only 55 minutes. If I had any "complaints," it was not with the airline or crew, but with my fellow passengers, many of whom appeared to be flying for the first time in their life!

The return flight was in the Q400. Smaller and noiser, that's for sure. However, the flight was practically empty so I had the opportunity to stretch out. The weather in BOI was snow, sleet and wind that caused the snow to blow from left to right. We had to take a bit of time to de-ice, but still managed to get to SEA early.

Regarding food and beverage, both flights had all that. Starbucks, wine, Coke, pretzels and breakfast bars. I didn't eat any of it though because I already got something over-priced at the airport.

So, thank you to Captain Ken and First Officer Kelly! Great job.

This is the type of feedback that management needs to see. They think that the world revolves around the Q400. "The passangers love them." Yeah if they are working.
