You guys are way to optimistic, Horizon is going to be the same lame ass, slow to upgrade place it always was. Nobody will buy Horizon, to expensive. Alaska will not do what Delta did, sell cheap, they will want top dollar for QX.

The TA will present pay cuts in "good" light, like we are taking from here, but here is how you can make it back, if the moon, Mars and Jupiter line up correctly. Also the 401k will more than likely be reduced. So, it will get voted down at least once. At the end of the day QX will still be a lame ass place to work. Nothing much will change. It is the AAG way, make it look like you are moving, but then you realize you have been running in place.

The world is falling, everyone is F'd. I'm not going to get in a ****ing match with you but if you don't like it move on. There are other options out that where you might not be as misserable. There is nothing worse than spending a trip with someone complaining the whole time. Try Compass, they offered me a interview and I am sure that you have much more expirience than I do.

Too many of those types at Horizon...it was nice to fly with someone who didn't complain the entire trip about the company. Every company has it's good points and bad points...and if you're that unhappy at QX, then by all means, leave...get out...do whatever you have to do to make yourself happy.

Hopefully there will some good news to come, it will be nice to see movement again in the airlines.

The seas were rough...now they're starting to calm...just before the next big wave comes

Did I touch a nerve, with my realistic view of life at Horizon? I would move on if I could, but unfortunately there are too many people with 4000 hours of sic and little turbine PIC, and if you haven't noticed that doesn't get you very far in today's world.

Go to Compass? They just got sold to a bottom feeding regional, I don't see good times a head for Compass, just look around this forum about Trans States not exactly a resounding endorsement. So I guess you guys will have to come back and listen to guys like me ***** about this place. Sorry.

I stand by my feeling that nothing much will change around here. I have had my hopes up to many times to watch Horizon sit on the sidelines while others pounce on opportunities. They are committed to have 48 airplanes, that is it. Alaska will tell them where to go and when. I am just waiting for my chance to bail on this place and then I can go and complain somewhere else.

No, you didn't touch a nreve. My priorities have changed. But when the world starts falling apart around you all and your not happy make a jump to somewhere that makes you happy. There are jobs out there if you do choose to leave. There is a King Air 90 PIC posting in Woodinville if you SEA based. Try Erin Air at BFI. Your time will make you competative.
I went to QX for being based in domicile and knew that upgrade would be longer than if I went to Lakes or Colgan. Not trying to sound likemgmt but with the 401K match and industry leading rate per hr the attrition is going to be weak. Not much but 6 people have left in sept only 2 captains, though.
Also I understand and see how you can and have been dissapointed by QX, I have been furloughed for 21 months. You probably, downgraded in the process. But the complaining is contagious and I was a huge complainer when I was there, listening to my captains. I'm not going to be when I am there second time around. But if I do get unhappy I will make a change that will make me all smiles. You can ask me a year from now what I think and very well my opinion could change. Positively yours.

PS I am expecting scheduling to screw me over multiple time a bid. But *****ing about CS does not count.

(there are gramatical and spelling errors)

FL410,
I am another one of those complaining captains. Has anyone told you that if you come back to QX, it will only be temporary? They are recalling pilots because so many left in order to avoid furlough. We are losing another five airplanes in 2011. That will mean another 50 furloughs if we don't lose them by attrition. You should really take that into consideration before you leave another job. This is not the QX that you left 21 months ago. Moral is at an all time low and with the new TA, "the 401K match and industry leading rate per hr" will be history. Good luck staying positive....
