Kind strange that the company comes out and announces today that we're going to be voting on a new TA?

Talk about out of left field...

Yea, I must have missed the survey...

When I saw the title of the thread I thought it was some poor sap stuck in the black hole that is QX, asking for a way to get out! :D

Horizon Air and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) have announced the reaching of a tentative agreement that would extend the current pilot contract for six years.
"The extension of the agreement benefits our pilots and the company equally," says Glenn Johnson, Horizon president. "The IBT and Horizon worked hard to craft an agreement that combines both wage and productivity increases, and the six-year term provides everyone with stability for planning."
The IBT will present the agreement specifics to pilots beginning Oct. 29, and the ratification vote will take place in the weeks following. The results are expected in mid-December.
The current five-year contract was ratified in November 2010, and per a clause in the agreement, 2012 and 2013 wages were set in late 2011. Once ratified, the extended contract would become amendable Dec. 14, 2018.
Some details so far...

3% Lump Sum "bonus" of your previous 12 months pre-tax gross earnings* as a "signing bonus" ($50,000 gross = $1500...down from the $4560 bonus on the last one contract).
1.5% Lump Sum "bonus" of your previous 12 months pre-tax gross earnings* each year 2013-2017. ($50,000 gross - $750/year...x 5 payouts = $3750 total)
*excludes PBP (performance based pay) and OPR (on-time performance bonus).

Pay Rates:
Current rates increase each year at 1.45% (roughly) for First Officers. Top pay is $50.17/hr for FO's and $120.97 for Captains by 2018.

Change in "Out Time" to read "The time when the last exterior door on the aircraft is closed prior to movement for the purpose of flight" (Currently the EFB logs "out time" when the aircraft has moved more the 50ft...which is bad for spin-out stations and stations that De-Ice at the gate) (Block Out Time for the purpose of Pay matches this new definition)

Satellite Base options. (Currently trying to break this one down)

More to come

Anybody have anymore details to share on Horizon's new TA? I'm curious about the satellite basing options and what that means...

Funny... All of us here at QX are thinking the same thing. Apparently the union pushed for this section but we have not recieved a logical explanation (outside of road shows) as to the why or ramifications yet.

I'm guessing we will have some new Cali bases soon. OAK, SJC, SFO or ONT, BUR, LAX, SNA?

If the company wants it, run. Of course they'll offer carrots, but they have a history of seeing labor as a bitterly begrudged expense, not a player at the table, so be afraid.
Also, why do you call yourself, "Captain and FO" Lucas?

Fokker28 11-15-2012 12:53 PM

Oh, and of course I mean most airline management when I say "the company." I'm not referring to ANY specific management.
