Horizon hiring/interviews

You could also live in a place like Pasco Washington where there are 6 QX flights per day to Seattle and back. The flight is around 45-50min long. The living expenses are reasonable but yet there is still stuff to do in the area especially if you like boating/fishing.

It's definitely possible. The question is... how much debt do you have? If you're paying several hundred per month in school loans, have a sizable car payment, and have other debt, then you'll have some issues. When I got hired here the only debt I had was my wife's car, which wasn't that expensive. I was pretty comfortable on first year pay.

Asked before but by another but not answered, anyone have any info on 60 hour in last 6 month requirement. Military , ATP, 2600 hrs, retiring haven't flown in 6 months, will be a year non-flying possibly by the time I get out.

I would still apply, most of us coming out of military life haven't been flying much. I was still current/qualified but just barely, with continued cuts in flying hours on the military side it will be a continued reality. That being said if you can gain any kind of currency it would probably help.

Right on, thanks for the reply, I'm a NW kid so Horizon is on my radar. I have a friend or family member in almost all of their domiciles and starting out sounds like I'll be pulling a bit of reserve no matter were I go. Follow up question how is Horizon's training program, both in terms of flying and learning the civilian side of things?

I averaged about $2k take home a month and that was on reserve with no open time pickups.
