Who said this to you? I'm looking for specifics. If you would like to send me a pm, please do
I see many senior Captains staring lustfully across the ramp at the SkyWest CRJ-700's they used to fly, and they're still bitter about them being taken away. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "Man, back when we flew jets..."

Flying out of BOI means I get to experience a slightly different version of "senior captain SJS". Usually, it starts with the "back when we flew jets" that you mentioned, and then transitions into a rant about having to commute for ten years while Boise was closed (and maybe something about some perceived slight from our current
management) followed by something about "Scabwest", and often there's something about how much of a POS the Q400 is.
There's been a couple of times when I've been incredibly close to saying "get over it", but since there's some new upgrades coming into Boise, it's nice to fly with people who aren't holding a decade long grudge exacerbated by SJS.

Evidently Mr Campbell when asked about Jets or any other flys has been quoted as saying "that's why I'm here".
As far as bases, I think is safe to say for the short run Spokane and Boise are safe places to be with the new route announcement.

I wouldn't be so sure on the bases.... Didn't an early morning BOI-SEA flight just get shipped to SkyWest? My information might be incorrect, but I thought it eliminated an RON there...

To the new Boise FO above complaining about BOI captains. They were flying F-28s before you where born. It is a bit understandable to be upset by the company they helped build out sourcing their jobs. And yes, some of those RJ routes are Alaska routes, but half of them were QX branded flights. You would know that if you flew here when the planes only said Horizon on the side.

Boise yes, but Spokane is a question mark. They don't have enough aircraft that over night.

+1000 many a good times spent flying with the guys at BOI. Who's the guy who always says "stick a fork in it cause we're done" at the end of the trip? Flew helicopters in the Guard such an awesome guy.

If it hasn't yet it will when Skywest gets the E175s for Alaska due to their new overnight maintenance facility there.

I completely understand why some of the captains in Boise hold a
grudge, and I didn't mean to come across as complaining about the captains in BOI, since 90% of them are a lot of fun to fly with. I'm sure the small minority who complain about everything would find something to be unhappy about anywhere they were.

Skywest did pick up an AM flight in Boise, but I don't know if we lost a RON or they just shifted it to another flight.
Are you thinking of Ted? I flew a couple of trips and he's a great guy.

Boise has a lot of really cool people.
Captain Chaos comes to mind. That dude cracks me up. I flew with him shortly after I finished IOE... and gave him my normal comment of "I'm new around here, and so if there's anything I'm not quite doing right or any knowledge you'd like to give me, I'm all ears." His eyes lit up, and shortly after that I got the enthusiastic phrase "These people we work for are a bunch of heinous butt**********!"

Is Tim the other guy you're thinking of? I flew a few trips with him, and he's an absolute riot, although some of the new FA's were clearly baffled by a captain who kept making stupid jokes the entire trip.
