Horizon Air scheduling

Can someone in the know please tell me if one could build a line that could facilitate having more than just a couple days off in a row? I am very interested in Horizon, but I would be commuting from SMF. I understand that most show times out of base are quite early, so I would have to fly to base the night before and perhaps head home to SMF the day after duty. I would like to think that I would have more than a day and half or 2 days off between duty. Thanks in advance and please excuse my ignorance to the 121 world.

Once off reserve the lines can be changed via the SAP process. I'll let someone currently there tell you how it works I left before I was off reserve.

I'm a fairly junior line-holder... and I work a consistent 4 on/3 off this bid... except for a couple times I work 3 and have 4 off. I wouldn't expect more than 4 off on a regular basis, although I've managed to string up to 9 together occasionally.

SAP is our method of changing schedules around once lines have been awarded, and it happens in two phases.

In SAP 1, you can choose to drop trips for your line or pick up trips from open time, as long as the trips you add would be legal (in terms of duty/rest times), you don't drop below the min guarantee, and those choices are awarded based on seniority. SAP 2 is simply first come, first serve for dropping and adding trips, so its a bit more effective as a way for junior line holders to make changes to their schedule.

Thanks for the replies guys. I currently live in Sacramento. My wife has a job that is to good to leave. I just wanted to make sure that I would have some time at home, it looks like it shouldnt be to bad, between Alaska, Horizon, and Southwest there are quite a few flights from Saramento to Portland and Seattle.
