What's happening at Horizon and Jets?

Down the road the signing bonuses for the Q400 will probably go up towards 25k if the LOA passes while the ERJ will be significantly lower. The ERJ is better in every way imaginable. Easiest RJ you could ever fly with the best schedules and QOL.
You will however upgrade in the Q400 because your seniority will never hold ERJ captain until the fleet is replaced entirely, and the transition from ERJ to Q400 will be BRUTAL for someone having no experience in the Q. Think of going to an airplane where practically everything is automated and hands off to the exact opposite. It can be done for sure, but the learning curve is steep and when the sht hits the fan and you have a new hire with no time either sitting next to you things will get interesting.

I disagree but everyone has their own opinions, I think this place will turn around and make its way back to being at the top again but like I said, we've all got our own opinions I'm excited to see this place grow and hopefully this new TA will be great and actually bring in new hires and also boost morale a bit. We will have to wait and see though first!

Still hiring for the RJ?
Howdy few questions : Is horizon still scheduling F/O' classes for the RJ? at 40 I don't think doing six legs a day in the almighty "Q" will be very enjoyable! Longer routes and better QOL on the RJ right? What is the commuter's policy? Thanks

Call and ask a recruiter, if they are you just might have to wait longer for a class date.

All I want to know is what made the union finally give in to the companies proposal? It better be good. Its going to be hard for me to vote yes to anything. Personally, I want flow thru or something that makes us equal to everyone else and Im tired of seeing for FOs with no PIC time get hired at AS. Maybe bump it form 30 to 50% from QX in a AS class at the least.. Any thoughts? Snacky??

TA - Tentative Agreement. Meaning the company and the union agreed to amend the current contract, tentative to what the pilots vote. The union has yet to release what the new terms to the new contract is. Everyone is anxious to know.

I don't understand why. AAG owns QX. They can lower QX's labor costs by moving the most expensive pilots to the bottom of AS's seniority list. AS has to hire anyways.

I dont know why you say Never... ? Please, make a valid logical point why. All it takes is AS having trouble hiring enough, which they are. More people are leaving AS than ever before right now. It is more cost effective to grow mainline and shrink QX than to park planes at QX, which is happening. Why not absorb QX pilots than make them go elsewhere?
