Completely disagree with that, we've had countless people get hired at delta, southwest, united, Alaska and ups and I'm sure others elsewhere.

Not countless. The numbers are out there. Yes, you will get hired with TPIC and no jet time, but it's all about checking boxes and getting points. No jet time, no check in that box.

Does anyone know if Horizon passed the 25K sign-on bonus?

This does not apply whatsoever to military tprop time. I know herc and orion guys who went straight to DAL, SWA, etc., with no jet time and a lot less TPIC than guys with a decade in an RJ left seat.

Also, times are changing. I'm 36. 10 years ago when I was in my 20's and friends of mine were getting furloughed from the regionals and mainline legacy pilots were flying at Eagle and elsewhere, jet TPIC seemed like an attractive thing to have on the resume.

I hate to sound old, but nowadays I'm not so sure jet time matters. Legacies are hiring, foreign airlines in some parts of the world can't get enough western pilots, and the shortage is real. The hiring trends I'm seeing imply the legacies don't care.

The TA that contains the bonus was only released to the pilots on Monday, and hasn't been voted on yet.

Where is initial training for Horizon and does the company provide hotel, per diem and training pay? If so, how much can one expect to gross? Also, are crashpads easy to come by in the Horizon base network? Thanks!

Ground school is in PDX, sims in SEA for the Q400 and STL for the jet.

Company provides hotel, no per diem, training pay is 4 hours per day under new contract. Some days are 8 hours long, others way shorter. The jet uses a home study course so you aren't even there.

If LOA passes and rates go to $40.00 first year it will basically be a month of ground school at min guarantee (70 hours).

Crashpads are pretty easy to find, there's postings in the crew rooms and new hire class rooms.
