If Air Group wanted to actually solve the problems at QX, they'd give the job to someone from outside the company who has experience dealing with stuff like the dumpster fire that's going on here, but I fully expect them to just get another "yes-man" to fill the position.

The most frustrating thing about using FLICA, indeed the only thing, is that you don't actually see how people have bid, only their awards. It makes it hard to know if those 10 people above you don't want to upgrade, or if they're bidding on something that's a long shot, like a PDX base.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were predicting the September awards.

Hi,
Please school me with what you know/think of in terms of fleet plan for Horizon?
Airlinepilotcentral.com shows 621 active Pilots, 52 Q400, 33 Ejet with 30 Ejet option.
Are the Q400 going to be phased out? Otherwise the company will grow to 85 acft with option to be 115?
With only 6xx pilots, and fleet growth to min 85, wouldn't it be great time to join?
I assume it also depends on weather they can staff the planes. I think Ejet classes are filled to Fall. How about Q, are classes growing?
Anymore rumors about next Ejet base?
Cheers!

Hi Taylor - I can't answer all of your questions, but I'll pass on what I've heard this week:
(1) There are currently 676 pilots listed on our seniority list. I'm pretty sure some of them haven't even started training.
(2) The number of Q400s (52) is correct. I heard that the company wants to park five of them next year.
(3) We currently have a handful of E175s flying. Based on our flight schedule, there are three out doing revenue flights today. I think we have five or six on the property at this time. Some may still be in the process of "acceptance testing". We're supposed to have 13 by the end of the year.
(4) The company is still having trouble filling Q400 classes.
In my opinion, the Q400 is a fun plane to fly. I'd probably enjoy the jet as well, but am not willing to commute to Seattle. I have not heard about any new bases.

29 cancelations
Passengers affected: 1,197
This amongst another VMC perfect flying day occurring at their PDX and SEA hubs.
Need to get a whole lot better on staffing so they can just complete flights in order to survive let alone getting back to being best RJ airline in the country.
