What are reserve and upgrade times in SEA for Horizon nowadays? A good friend of mine wants to get into 121 from 135 flying at TMC and needs to be based in SEA to escape his 2 week on/2 week off program. Is the Dash good QOL?

I'm sure Snacky can give you some more information, but here's what I know:
(1) New-hires in the E175 will get Seattle immediately.
(2) New-hires in the Q400 can hold Seattle in 8-10 months. Seattle is one of the more senior bases for the Q400.
(3) The upgrade time for both the jet and the Q400 is about 2.5 years. We're currently running out of First Officers who meet the requirements to upgrade (1000 Part 121 time or equivalent). If your friend has some previous military time or Part 135 turbine time in "larger" aircraft (10 seat or more), he may be able to count this toward the requirements.
As someone who spent 10 years in the right seat, it's a weird and wonderful thing to see new-hires upgrade almost immediately.
(4) The bad news... Seattle has always had the worst schedules in our system, at least for the Q400. I think the jet schedules are pretty good.
Best wishes,
DA

i fly at OO and some crews actually talk about how embarrassing widdle jonneaux is. One pilot is pretty sure he knows he is but just waiting to confirm. Says he is a real idiot in real life also, so don't feed him. He's a "know it all lifer" as they call him. Sorry he posts here.

You’ve got to be a real life idiot to not put together who he is.

No....most of posts involved a large level of assumption and speculation. He presented himself as a jerk, which was indicated by his forced time away from the forums.

Assumptions and speculations based on facts, presented in a tackless manner. Justifiably given a timeout.

At the end of the day if your friend can live with triple psc overnights, it's bearable. I didn't find sea trips to be worse than pdx or geg.
