“Aviate, Navigate, Communicate” isn’t taught any more?

For those of us on the outside, what’s the DOH of that CA?
Also I’d be interested to know the DOH of the most junior FO in PDX.
Thanks!

To give everyone perspective, that is a 1/3/18 DOH. A pilot just above him with a 12/4/17 DOH was also awarded this round.

The company wanted 14 Q captains. 11 were awarded. I also noticed there wasn't a single Q MFR award. All PDX and SEA. The 3 most junior Q upgrade awards are PDX.

E175 SEA upgrades went as junior as 3/2017 DOH. 2 of them from the same class.

If you can't get the Engine Clean Up Items Checklist complete in the time it's going to take to fly north of the airport, turn around and head back south to the VOR...you're def doing it wrong.

From what I recall doing it in the Sim, it takes around 10-15 mins once you've hit accel height...and I'd argue that getting that checklist complete constitutes "Aviating", since it requires to be complete without delay. There are quite a few items I'd like to see accomplished.

YMMV

Good for them but I can't imagine being on reserve for the next 10 years and hardly ever flying . Not much career progression.

If you don't run the cleanup item checklist without delay, depending on which engine failed, you risk the PTU cavitating and causing a hydraulic system failure on the good engine. The reason we know that is because it happened at Horizon.

As long as you have been at Horizon Snackey why are you still just an FO.
