What's happening at Horizon and Jets?

Deliveries resume late this month with the 11th going online next month. Expect to see the remaining orders of 23 delivered at 1 to 2 per month. We definitely have the crews for them.
I've heard classes are booked out as far as June/July.

I haven't been following the regionals to closely but I've shifted my attentions to Alaska as a possibility for a career destination. I have my reasons.
I dont know anyone at Horizon and I have no information except on the horizon job site and the last ten pages of this thread, but is that pathways program really as good as it sounds? If you're a guy who has spent a lot of time on the rough edges of aviation and have a good amount of Total, 121, PIC and Turbine time, could you really just get on at Horizon and make the move over to Alaska in a year.
Are there massive numbers of pilots in line for that? is this only for guys hired under the program? Is the term "perform to Alaska’s standards" a catch all like it is a Commutair where there is a shockingly high number of PC failures before they hit the 2 years clean record before they get their flow?
And on a side note, is that two months to Captain on the Q just a fluke that will correct itself and be unobtainable in a month or two?

Now the downside of that is that you will stay a low seniority captain for a rather long time, with seniority behind that of even the FOs you may be flying with. What that might do for any potential flow to Alaska that MIGHT develop, and so far it doesn't look like you can really call what they have a flow, I have no idea. But you will be getting TPIC which is never a bad thing.

That's not good... ALK reports on 4/25 and analysts are predicting a -.16% EPS for the quarter. I may need to start looking elsewhere if that will have an impact on hiring for the rest of the year. I was banking on the Q in KGEG or Portland.

This is tough to follow because I cut-n-pasted from the Alaska pages...

Not sure where that puts us net block hours, but it wasn’t a total loss of flying.
It sounds like the company is pumping the brakes on growth for the moment, cutting weakness and adding where they are strong to show some better numbers to Wall Street."

I'm in Corporate America returning to Part 121 flying after a long absence...the broker is successfully guiding Fortune 100 companies. Alaska will be fine.

Alaska will be fine. It does seem like pilots, management and the media all need to collectively stop freaking out. Anyway...a fine group of young and old aviators here in Orlando at ATP/CTP. Hopefully we'll still have jobs when indoc starts on 3/19.

The vast majority of our longer jet routs have gone to SY. SY will not fly the short shuttle routs for AK because they aren’t profitable.

You can get either PDX or GEG. I was referring to AS hiring being done for the year. Someone hired today into the pathways program can probably expect a 3-4 year wait although we don't know the exact number since they haven't taken anyone yet.

I took at May 24th class date in the Q, I could have had sooner but still finishing up my 1500 hours. I believe another gentlemen that interviewed with us was offered a mid-May date in the E-Jet.
