It would be interesting to have Horizon and Alaska management explain their business plan....

I agree it is not a good pattern but I think the information is a little skewed. Yes, SkyWest is scheduled to fly many of these flights but it isn't necessarily new flying. Just to be completely transparent...

ICT- SkyWest has been flying that one for Alaska for a little while now. They are currently still flying it. It goes away April 28th but then comes back May 20th. So you aren't wrong Snacky but the flight only went away for 3 weeks.

MRY- Similar situation. SkyWest has been flying this route since the beginning of the year. It looks like it goes away March 10th and then comes back May 20th. So again, Snacky you aren't wrong.

BIL- Again same thing. At this location there were a lot more start and stops bouncing back and forth between Horizon and SkyWest.

Not great news for Horizon but wanted to paint a little more complete picture.

Here's the latest most junior Captain upgrade awards for May class:

SEA Q400 - 2/12/2018 DOH
*8 of the 14 Q upgrades/transition/base transfers awarded to Spokane.

SEA E175 - 6/26/2017 DOH
Next most junior E175 awards are 4/17/2017 and 4/3/2017.

June upgrades bid opens tomorrow. I'm speculating summer classes will go even more junior as senior folk don't want to be training over the summer. With deliveries resuming, any bets on the E175 upgrade falling to 6 months (or less)? Any takers?

As long as there's no PDX base the jet will continue going junior. Until the next base closure and displacement bid at least. The junior people may not be captains for long.
