Hampton on 28th is about 80 bucks and better than most Hamptons I’ve stayed at.

I would not go to the coast.

Dang I was totally frame-chasin' that Q400, literally applied for pilot dev program the day before they announced this. Mega uncertainty at Horizon huh? Looking forward to hearing updates but hard to imagine signing with QX after this announcement

You’re not missing much. The Q gets overhyped for some reason. Sure, it’s cool to handfly a turbo prop in bad weather (if that’s your thing). At the end of the day it’s just an airplane.

Realistically every regional is facing similar staffing issues. Pick your poison.

The only way to get QX adequately staffed probably requires pay scales something like allegiant or something medium range. But then QX wouldn't be that cheap anymore.

The funny thing is the last concessionary TA '21 probably killed the Q by equaling the pay scales. Now there's a 2 year seat lock in the Q and ppl were thinking twice before bidding it

Sad to see but I don’t think they make it. There will be stagnation for a new hire as the super senior Q captn come over to the E. Probably be over staffed for a time. Any one that was thinking of staying is now bailing. Attrition will be worse. No new hires want to come…… kaboom.

Best case Alaska just absorbs them in.

I was thinking the opposite.. maybe super senior pilots that haven't already made the leap to the E just bounce. I'm sure some will come but gotta believe some of the BOI and GEG people don't have the desire and/or will be very salty. A cynical look is that AAG hopes for this, is pruning the pilot group and is being absorbed or will legit run 40ish 175's. I think the story will be told in the upgrade/transitions in the next few months. May has no upgrade, which was head scratching, but then this news came out, so they've been planning this for some time.

So why would anyone stay here now? With majors hiring FOs, there’s no reason to stay. And why would anyone even come here? Could be stuck as an FO for a long time as we are no overstaffed for 39 planes. Skywest is having unfilled Seattle seats.

Well at least you’re now the most staffed airline in the country. What is that, around 850 pilots to operate 40 E175’s?

Will they train every Q pilot? Or will they only train as staffing is needed on the ERJ???
